Toyosu Sunset

August 30th, 2010

I was out with Kane using a tripod down at Toyosu taking some sunset photos. It was pretty fun using a tripod the first time.

I took a few photos that I thought I was happy with, but they weren’t too great on the PC.  In the end this one photo is the one I was most happy with. I should have alternated lenses and taken some shots with the 50mm.  Wide is all good, but it can make the background of what you are trying to take end up looking way too small (owned by my tiny LCD again).

Oh well, Ill get em next time :D

I also need to get  a hood for my lens and probably get it cleaned, some weird dirt appeared at certain focal lengths when I zoom…

I thought that the cool looking sky, along with the two photographers taking photos as sillouettes would have a good effect,  I also slightly tilted the lens to give a diagonal view.

I might mess around with some crops later since there is a bit of dead space.

Tokyo International Forum

August 27th, 2010

Ok, so I decided that a while ago that I would go to the International Forum to take some photos of the interior. Before I went I decided to what I did when I took the Shibuya Station photos and go and check flickr to see if there were photos up.

For Shibuya Station there were hardly any good photos so I decided to go and do it. But for TIF, there were like 7000 + photos of it… lol

I decided to not bother taking it since people had shot the hell out of it already. But at the last minute I was meehh whatever, might as well get in some practice and put in some work.

So here are some of the photos. Any feedback welcomed.

Night Shooting

August 25th, 2010

Went running through the streets of Shimbashi and Yuurakchou last night with Adrian and Niaya taking photos while Adrian was going over some camera stuff with her. I decided to bring out the Tokina 11-16 since I havent shot with it for a while. Most of these pics probably have some noise and stuff, but w/e its night time so it cant really be helped.

Yoyogi Bboy

August 22nd, 2010

I found myself in Yoyogi park yesterday where they were doing some sort of break dance event.  I decided to take some photos just to document the fact that I was there. With the nature of break dance unless you know the persons routine it is pretty hard to shoot. Because they move so fast and you dont really know what to look out for. Also I found a couple of presets on lightroom. Thoughts on how the colors etc look.

Random Assortment

August 18th, 2010

Brutal heat in Tokyo. Hardly taken any photos recently due to fatigue. I also find myself drinking black coffee (taste like poison) everyday to stop myself from falling asleep  at work lol.

Here are a couple of snaps over the past couple of days though.

Composition Practice

August 11th, 2010

So, found a new resolve. Was thinking of buying a new cam body and some other stuff, but I will put that on hold for the moment and keep on trucking with the D70. So, since shooting with Charlie in Yoyogi park I have found that I the amount of photos I take has gone down a lot (compared to before). Reason being, just taking a photo of one person yawning or doing something without some sort of context isnt too interesting. Also defeats the purpose of using a wider lens right?

Anyway, a few photos I took during the week and a bit of logic behind it.

Photo Shoot with Maika

August 9th, 2010

So, was chilling with Maika and Adrian the other day and I asked if they wouldn’t mind helping me test out the softbox and mess around shooting flash from different directions to see what effect it has. They both obliged and so we took a range of photos around and about Harajuku. Here are some that I liked.

Shots from Club Smoke

August 7th, 2010

So, Adrian rang me like 4pm yesterday and said he was going to Smoke to take some photos. I was like cool, ill meet you there. Luckily I had my flash with me. Here are some of the photos of the night. In a bit of a rush so just gonna post the photos, nothing really to go over anyway. Was more of a bar than a club, so there was some lighting, but still used flash. Anyway here you go:
